The gambling industry is one of the major and the most lucrative industries in Australia, it is essential for the gambling venues to reopen very soon, in order to fix the losses and keep the employees.
Crown Casino and The Star Entertainment are among the casinos that managed to keep over 90% of their employees. Yet, they need to reopen in order to continue operation. State government organized a group for discussion, where all main gambling industry representatives, including the Crown, The Star, Tabcorp, and many more were present. They discussed the possible reopening dates and the measures they will need to comply with while opening their doors to the visitors.
The date is unknown, yet there is a possibility that the major venue will open in July or at least in August. As for the safety measures, there will be certain limits put on the capacity of the venues as well as practicing social distancing further.
While talking about limits and further safety measures, every gambling venue will have to check the temperature of the guest and provide them with all essential equipment and behavior guidelines inside the venue.
The capacity of the venue will be reduced to one person per four square meters. The distance between guests should not be less than 1.5 meters. Every second slot machine will be removed or switched off in order to maintain the social distance between slot machine players. The limit is put on the table games as well. Three to four people are allowed to sit around one poker table.
One way or another, the casino officials and representatives have very tough weeks coming up. Some of the major decisions have to be made and some new measures have to be considered in order to continue operation.
All in all, casinos have to come back to life. While the live gambling industry is sinking and taking major hits, the online gambling industry is flourishing. The quadrupled ‘online poker’ Google searches is vivid proof of this.
